Pachuag Pond
A Look at Pachuag Pond In Griswold Connecticut

Pachaug Pond is located in the town
of Griswold. The lake is artificial in origin, being formed by the
impounding of the Pachaug River. The pond has a surface area of
approximately 870 acres and a maximum depth of 16 feet. The shoreline
of the lake is primarily woodland and pasture. Development is
moderately with occasional cluster developments.

The ramp is of concrete planks with
an asphalt approach. There are parking and fishing facilities for
the handicapped adjacent to the boat launch.
Access to Pachaug Pond is provided through a state owned boat launch
located adjacent to the dam. The boat launch can be reached by
taking Interstate 395, Exit 85 onto Route 138 east. The launch
2.5 miles from the interchange.
The parking area adjacent to the boat launch can accommodate
approximately 40 vehicles.
Chemical toilets are available on a seasonal basis.
